Patrick immigrated to an unknown place circa 1880.2 Patrick was employed in 1891, at Torrington, Litchfield County, CT, U.S.A..3 Patrick was an unknown person 's housemate at Torrington, Litchfield County, CT, U.S.A., in 1891.3 He married Mary Ryan circa 1892.2 He was Thomas Francis Walsh's landlord at Torrington, Litchfield County, CT, U.S.A..3 He and Thomas Francis Walsh were employed in 1896 at Torrington, Litchfield County, CT, U.S.A..3 He was employed in 1896 at Torrington, Litchfield County, CT, U.S.A..3 Patrick's occupation: Butcher. He was retired in 1937 at Torrington, Litchfield County, CT, U.S.A..2 He was ill with cancer; Metastetic Carcinoma circa 1950. He was ill with heart disorder/stroke; Arteriosclerosis circa 1950. He and Mary Ryan lived in 1950 at Torrington, Litchfield County, CT, U.S.A.; Probably moved here many years before, but need further research on the exact year.2 Patrick died on 15 January 1952 at Torrington, Litchfield County, CT, U.S.A., at age 91.      Research done by Sean Murphy of Dublin indicated that Matthew was listed in the 1901 and 1911 census. The children correspond to what is recorded here, except that Murphy's research indicated that in 1911 Matthew had 13 children 11 of which were living. He also claims that the children Patrick & Matthew were listed as being born in America, but that probably was incorrect. Matthew was listed as living in Coolboy in both years and was identified as Roman Catholic.
Further research done by J.W. in 1996 in Ireland revealed that Matthew took over the lease of the family farm from Thomas Walsh in 1888. He bought the farm in 1924. This was the direct result of land reform following Irish independence in 1921. Matthew was born on 5 August 1855 at Limerick, County Limerick, Ireland. He was the son of Thomas Walsh and Johanna Fennessy. He married Mary Tobin on 11 February 1885 at Ireland. As part of the marriage "settlement", Thomas Walsh gave his lease on property at Coolboy to his son Matthew. Matthew's soon to be father-in-law, Patrick Tobin also agreed to pay Thomas 110 pounds sterling. Matthew married Mary Tobin and they settled on the farm at Coolboy. Interestingly, Thomas and Matthew signed their own names to the contract while Patrick simply made his mark indicating that he was probably illiterate..1 He resided at Coolboy, at Kilbehenny, County Limerick, Ireland, in 1888. He appeared on the census of 1901; Listing in 1901 Census of Ireland.2 Matthew died after 1924 at Ireland.
